Giving brain-injured adults the chance to regain integrity, wholeness and independence.
Hilltop’s Life Adjustment Program (LAP) was created to serve clients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Currently 5.3 million Americans live with TBI – most likely being caused by motor vehicle accidents, falls, firearm use, domestic violence and even lighting strikes. All too often care for brain injured adults has been relegated to psychiatric institutions, locked nursing homes or often times they end up being homeless
LAP was created in 1985 to help brain injured-adults re-discover meaning in their lives. LAP is a highly unique program that provides a modern environment of choice for brain-injured adults where they can receive acknowledgement and support as individuals, rather than patients. This very special program is nationally recognized by CARF, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and is dedicated to giving brain-injured adults the chance to reclaim integrity, wholeness and independence.
LAP provides a safe and nurturing environment where clients receive personalized care that allows them to achieve maximum self-sufficiency. The LAP Campus combines state-of-the-art care, community activities, and a park-like setting. Both residential care and adult day services are offered to provide a flexible continuum of care that meets our client’s ever-changing needs. LAP is dedicated to providing a comprehensive approach to care that is key to helping brain-injured adults rebuild their lives.
“It (LAP) gave her a new life… it gave her life.”
“I have friends who care about me.”
“The best thing about the program is the freedom… I do whatever I want to do.”
